Support Ring For Use with ALL Rounded Bottom Glass Vessel Sinks - 99% of the sinks we sell require this ring. If the bottom is rounded and the sink cannnot stand on its own, then this support will be needed..... We do not include with our sinks to allow our customersmore finish options. Can you install the sink without it? Yes, but when the drain is tightened and used the sink will always move and will never be as firmly installed as you will want, and many times installers overtighten the drain trying to extra tighten causing extra stress on the glass. The support ring is designed to be cupped on the top and snug the bottom of the glass bowl to add the exact support that is needed to install a rounded bottom bowl on a flat countertop surface. Installing is easy - the ring is placed under the bowl on top of the countertop over the pre cut drain hole. The sink is then places on top of the support and the drain head and neck pipe are dropped down through. The screw is then tightened up the drain neck and to the bottom of your cabinet or countertop making the vessel tight. It is important not to use a wrench and over tighten this stop causing extra tork and stress on the glass. Your installer would then install the trap to the bottom of our drain neck and carry the waste water to the wall and out as usual.
